May 12th, 2007
Neighborhood Cleanup
Post Summary

The May 12th, 2nd Saturday Cleanup was an exciting event. Volunteers were successful in assisting the Oak Park Neighborhood Association with the set-up of the Celebrate Oak Park Community BBQ. The Oak Park Business Association would like to thank the City of Sacramento for providing the garbage dumpster, Sergeant Feenstra and Officer Erika Woolson for keeping us safe and the Oak Park Neighborhood Association for providing our volunteers with free BBQ! We would particularly like to thank the 46 volunteers and the organizations they represent:

Sacramento High School (37)
Hiram Johnson High School (2)
St. HOPE (2)
100 Minds (2)
YouthWorks (2)
OPNA (1)
Total (46)

Sadly, May 12th was my last cleanup as the 2nd Saturday Cleanup Coordinator. I would like to thank all the volunteers and organizations who supported this event and give thanks to those who have consistently put in time and effort behind the scenes to make the Cleanups possible. I would like to extend a special thanks to Al Williamson (St. HOPE/OPNA), Brian Fisher (100 Minds/ OPNA), Mike Hunt (YouthWORKS), Lisa Gray (OPBA) and Stephanie Debenedetti-Emanuel (Christian Brothers High School), we could not have cleaned the streets without you!

Thank You,

Kauleen Menard

May 12th Clean Up - McClatchy Park

May 12th, 2007

Hello everyone,
What a great year it has been for the Oak Park 2nd Saturday Cleanups. We have had over 500 volunteers come out to support our last 8 cleanups in the 2006-2007 year. We aren't done yet! Our last cleanup will be at McClatchy Park in preparation for the Celebrate Oak Park community BBQ. We will be helping the Oak Park Neighborhood Association set-up for the event as well as making sure the park and surrounding streets are free of litter. As our last event before the summer we would like all past participants and newbies to come out and volunteer for this event. After the set-up we invite all volunteers to stay for free BBQ as a thank you for your hard work and support. As always volunteers should arrive at 9:45am and sign-in underneath the white tent near the baseball fields & bathrooms.
Details:
Location: C.K. McClatchy Park
3500 5th Ave.
Sacramento, CA 95817
Time: 9:45am - 12pm (stay for the BBQ from 12pm to 4pm)

Please remember to RSVP with me by Friday, May 11th at noon! Hope to see everyone there!
